Finally we’re done with Lower Realm! There’ll still be lots of fighting ahead because that’s just how the story is but just hang in there, lots of new exciting characters are coming. For me, this is where the fun begins, the lower realm arc is just a very filling and boring appetizer and now comes the main course!

Why are his parents in the upper realm? Can they travel there at will and SH can't?

Perhaps you miss something in the earlier episodes, after he “died”, the father and brother left and then later they mentioned the mother also went because the father was injured. All the while, it’s clearly stated that the big sects in the lower realm all have teleportation altars that are powerful enough to connect to the upper realm. You can see them as the “branches” while the upper realm is their “headquarters”.

The whole hoo-ha started when Willow God told SH that the universe is changing, the open access between the two realms will be closed (due to natural laws) and that’s the reason why all the upper realm’s invaders started coming to the lower realm before the realms are sealed. So now, SH is trying to find if there’s still any channel that is still open.

Mate, I explained the reasons quite a few times in my previous comments but fine I’ll write it again. I understand not everyone has the time to read all the comments every time. In short, he wants to become stronger to protect the ppl he loves but in order to do that he needs to go to the upper realm because in the lower realm, the Dao Law is incomplete and the Qi (the spiritual energy) is lacking, making it hard for ppl to breakthrough to a higher cultivation level. Furthermore, most of the ppl he cares for are in the upper realm.
